About Mary Jane OS

Built inside a sales team. Still running it.

Mary Jane OS was built by a New York sales team that represents licensed cannabis brands, to run the wholesale orders it takes. That team still runs on it every day.

Who built it

The Green Truth NYC provides sales representation for licensed New York cannabis brands. It represents those brands to licensed dispensaries, runs their presence in the stores, and keeps every order visible from quote to payment.

That work runs between people who never sit at the same desk: the reps in the stores, the brands that make and ship the product, the buyers who order it, and the people who pay and get paid on both sides. The company needed one place for all of it, so it built its own.

That system is Mary Jane OS. Omar El-Sayed, who founded the company, built it, and his team still works in it every day.

What a sales team holds

A team that sells for brands never holds the product. The brand makes it, ships it and bills the store for it. What the team holds is everything in between: the store it sells to, the brand it sells for, the quote the store approved, the purchase order the brand accepted, the invoice the store paid, and the statement that settles what the brand owes. Hold all of that in one place and you are holding the business.

What the field taught it

Mary Jane OS learned its rules the way a sales team does, on real orders. Five of them:

  1. A quote email never carries a price.

    The store gets one button, Review your order, and the order opens behind the store’s own login.

    The purchase order reaches the brand with one link to accept it, schedule it and mark it delivered.

    When the state puts a store on its list, that store pays cash on delivery, and no setting and no manager in MJOS can change it.

  4. Commission follows the deal of the day.

    Every order is figured on the terms in force on the day it was placed, so a rate renegotiated later never rewrites an old order.

Its own product

Mary Jane OS has its own site, its own price and its own sign-in. It is built for licensed cannabis brands, distributors and the teams that sell for them.

Each company works in its own workspace, walled off from every other, and the brands it represents sign in to see their own orders. The team that built it signs in the same way, to a workspace of its own.

MJOS Shop, the public wholesale directory it runs, lists 14 brands with a live wholesale menu and 168 products on those menus, with prices kept behind each store’s login.

It was built for New York’s rules first: the state’s COD list, and transfer templates sent to Metrc for the licensee to finalise, with the manifest number synced back to the order.
